More to The Gong "than just our sparkling beaches"

We Love the Gong: EAT

Mention Wollongong and most will think of the tourist destination, littered with dazzling beaches and a welcoming community. But for those of us who are perhaps not too beach keen then Wollongong will take on a whole new appeal, with the release of We Love the Gong: EAT, a cookbook tribute to the town’s cuisine.

We Love the Gong is somewhat different to your average cookbook, providing a personal touch from the community itself. Inside there are 27 recipes from 100% local eateries, alongside a profile of the chef or owner with additional words of inspiration and images. You’ll learn how to cook up hometown favourites like the duck and mushroom lasagne from Lorenzo’s Diner, or the gluten-free orange syrup cake served at Lee and Me. But it’s not just the food that’s local – everyone who worked on the book, from writers to graphic designers, is proud to call Wollongong home.

We Love the Gong: EAT is available online via the official Facebook page, or from selected Wollongong cafes. RRP $20.
